Anweisungen:

  1. Wash and pat dry 150 g Zucchini. Grate coarsely and place in a clean cloth; squeeze gently to remove excess moisture.
  2. Put 120 g Peas (thawed if frozen) in a bowl and lightly mash with a fork leaving some texture; for older toddlers you can leave whole peas if soft.
  3. Add the grated zucchini, 50 g Egg (beat lightly), and 30 g Plain flour to the peas. Mix to a thick batter; if too wet add a little more flour.
  4. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat and add a little 10 g Olive oil. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of batter into the pan and gently flatten to pancake shapes about 6–7 cm wide—small, flat shapes are easier for a toddler to pick up.
  5. Cook for about 3–4 minutes per side until lightly golden and set through. Lower the heat if they brown too quickly. You can test one to ensure it's fully cooked.
  6. Transfer to a plate and let cool to a safe temperature. Cut into finger-sized strips or offer whole if your toddler can pick up and bite safely. Serve warm. No added salt; no strong spices.

Allergies

Contains egg and gluten (Plain flour). For egg-free substitute, mix 40 g mashed banana or 30 g applesauce (note extra sweetness) or 30 g chickpea flour as binder. For gluten-free, use rice flour or oat flour (check oats are certified gluten-free).

Side effects and safety

Always supervise your toddler while eating. Ensure pieces are an appropriate size and texture to reduce choking risk. Introduce new ingredients one at a time and consult your pediatrician for known food allergies.
