A simple baby-led weaning breakfast of cottage cheese and pear served on whole-grain toast fingers. Suitable for babies 10+ months who are developing pincer/grasp skills and are ready for soft solids. This is a solid, non-pureed finger-food breakfast that encourages self-feeding and exploration.
Store components separately. Keep cottage cheese refrigerated at 4°C or below and use within 48 hours once opened. Prepared pear wedges in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Toasted bread is best served fresh; if stored, keep wrapped at room temperature for up to 24 hours or in the fridge up to 48 hours (bread may dry out). Do not leave food at room temperature for long—discard after 2 hours if left out.
Contains dairy (cottage cheese) and gluten (whole-grain bread). Check for known milk or wheat allergies before serving. Introduce new foods one at a time and watch for reactions.
Always supervise mealtimes to reduce choking risk. Cut food to sizes appropriate for your child’s ability and offer soft textures. Avoid adding salt, sugar or honey for infants under 1 year. If you have concerns about allergies or feeding readiness, consult your paediatrician.
