Simple, cold (no-cook) baby-led weaning snack composed of apple wedges and strawberry pieces. Suitable from around 10 months when the child can sit independently and uses fingers to grasp food. Texture should be adjusted to the child’s chewing ability (soften firm apple if needed).
Store cut fruit in an airtight container in the fridge and use within 24 hours. Whole fruit keeps longer. If you steam or cook apple to soften, keep the cooked apple refrigerated and use within 24 hours.
Watch for signs of allergy (rash, swelling, vomiting, breathing difficulty). Some children experience oral allergy syndrome to apples or strawberries—look for itching or tingling around the mouth. Always supervise to minimise choking risk; adjust size/softness to your child’s ability and introduce one new food at a time, monitoring for reactions over 48–72 hours.
